As you follow the road to the lodge you are greeted by a large carved bear on the first porch and then the stately carved eagle on the roof catches your eye.
Imagine walking into this rustic lodge to cathedral ceilings and the sound of the river flowing just outside the sliding glass doors. A closed fireplace snuggles in the center of a large brick hearth covering much of the wall. Picture a fire and everyone snuggling in this mountain retreat.

You'll enjoy the large, modern kitchen with electric stove, refrigerator and loads of counter space and cupboards. The cupboards contain basic needs. The kitchen blends into the dining room with a table that can seat six and an additional maple table that will seat four.

Down the hall a is a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. The two bedrooms on the first floor contain two double beds and two singles. A cozy, bright office can be found on the first floor with computer access,a phone for local calls or calling card use and an additional single bed. To top it off, there is an all-natural wood second bathroom with a relaxing shower, next to the office for everyones convenience.
Close your eyes as you climb the spiral stairway to the bedroom on the second level. Surprise, two separate outdoor balconies. One double and one single bed greet you as you open the sliding glass door where you look down at the river below and marvel at the quiet slice of nature you have just entered. Across the room you imagine this balcony for your morning coffee retreat.

Since the ranch sits on forty acres of land, outdoor activities are limitless. The West Fork of the Millicoma River runs through the property, so everyone will be in the river at different times of the year. Fishing is a seasonal attraction. If kayaking fills you with excitement you will love taking your kayak up the road to Henry Falls and kayaking down the river right to the lodge in the springtime or the Coos River year round. Do you have a horse? You can ride the logging trails high enough to see the ocean below the mountains. There is a pasture on the ranch where you can house your horse. If hiking is your pleasure, pack a lunch and cross the river to hike the trails for hours of exercise, peace and relaxation. Avid hikers may want to continue into the National Forest where they can hike for miles. Bring those mountain bikes and ride the many miles of country roads.

Nature’s wonders abound at this lodge. Since there is a working ranch on the grounds you can view llamas and goats or feed the chickens. Watch for all the wildlife. Including the river otter that swims below the lodge at night. If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of the bald eagle that swoops down the river corridor periodically. Watch for the herd of elk that pass through the property or catch the deer grazing at night. The quiet sounds of nature may call you to just sit on the swing on the back patio overlooking the river and read a good book.

At the end of the day enjoy an outdoor campfire and listen to the quiet sounds of nature. Then relax in the outdoor spa and prepare for the best nights sleep ever with the river singing you a lullaby.

Do You Need additional space !!! if so, consider the fully furnished private one bedroom "loft" , a stones throw from the Lodge, also available for rent upon special request.

Do you have friends or relatives that prefer a more rugged escape? Then you will want to check out the opportunities for relaxing on the same grounds as you are staying in a yurt or tipi. Within walking distance from the lodge you will find a furnished yurt and two authentic tipis.
