About June Lake

The place to go on holiday in June is the village with four lakes, which is located in the June Lake Loop and borders to the north, south, east, west and east.

The loop is actually California State Route 158, which leaves US Highway 395 and runs 16 miles through the canyon. In these 16 miles you will find endless winter and summer activities, but if you like the beauty of the lake and the beautiful scenery, the June Lake Loop cannot wait for you.

Follow Highway 395, turn left at the first sign - drive to the north side of Lake June and pass the town of June, a small town with about 1,000 inhabitants.

The fishing industry, known as one of the leading trout fisheries in the Sierra, requires boaters to drive at 10 km / h in the morning and 10 km / h in the afternoon. It is also legally required to be on the lake at all times except at 10 am. Early in the morning, anglers catch a good number of trout, as well as some small mules. Grant Lake is the largest lake serving as a reservoir for the Los Angeles Aqueduct System. The average depth of the lake is 60 feet and the maximum depth is 168 feet, but the average size of rainbow trout ranges from 1.5 to 3 feet. Other species are Lahontan trout, which occurs only in the June lakes, and rainbow trout, the largest trout species in the June lake.

If the water is too cold to swim in, consider sailing or kayaking along the three-mile coastline. The first is at the northern end of the lake and the second at the southern end, near the southern end. Both marinas offer boat rentals and a wide range of services, while the fishing season lasts from April to October.

Parker Lake Trail is one of California's most popular hiking trails, and the park's two-mile network of trails attracts hikers, climbers and climbers.
