About Lake Jackson

It is one of the oldest reservoirs in Georgia and serves as a wonderful recreational destination for Atlanta residents and visitors. Lake Jackson is located in the 4,750-acre Chattahoochee River basin, north of Atlanta, Georgia.

Lake Jackson is home to a predominantly rural 135-mile coastline, bounded mostly by the Chattahoochee River basin, with a variety of scenic views of the river and its tributaries, and secluded bays and coves where you can fish, fish and relax by boat.

In 1911, the Central Georgia Power Company began generating electricity from hydropower and built the Lloyd Reefs Dam to form Lake Jackson. Today, the power plant has six turbines, which with modern improvements can achieve an output of 21,000 kilowatts. Jackson Lake was built in the early 20th century as a result of the construction of a hydroelectric power plant on the Chattahoochee River. The shore of this residential lake is lined with houses and houses that line the shore, as well as bays and bays along the river and its tributaries.

In 1928, the Georgia Power Company acquired the power plant, and in 1978 Lloyd Shoals became part of the Central Georgia Hydro Group. The concrete dam is 100 metres high and houses six turbines with an output of 21,000 kilowatts.

Lake Jackson is also one of the largest freshwater lakes in the United States and the second largest in Georgia. It is accessible by boat from Lake Jackson and Lloyd Shoals, as well as from other parts of Georgia, Georgia and Alabama.

Swimming is very popular, as are water skiing and other water sports, and there are a few campsites. Lake Jackson is truly a fishing utopia, both on the shore and by boat, but there are also plenty of fishing, boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and lake fishing.

Georgia Power has lowered the water level by 3.5 meters due to a prolonged drought, and Georgia Power has lowered the water level by another 3 to 5 meters. Sport fish are streaked and spotty, but Georgia needs a fishing licence, so no fishing licence.
