About Topaz Lake

Topaz Lake is a reservoir on the west side of the Walker River near the town of Topaz, Arizona. The reservoir is owned and operated by the Walker River Irrigation District, which provides water for agricultural irrigation and diverts water from the West Walker River. It was built in the 1930s as a result of an additional dike in 1937, which increased Lake Topaz to its present size.

Fishing is possible at the Topaz reservoir from January to September, fishing, swimming, boating and even gambling are possible.

The lake is famous for its breathtaking views of the Walker River and the Arizona desert, as well as its beautiful waterfalls.

The Topassee is especially known for its rainbow trout, and the lake is regularly stocked with trout. Waterskiing and jet skiing are popular activities, as are fishing, swimming, boating and even gambling on Lake Topaz. The lake is not motorized and can be reached from any point of the Walker River by boat, canoe, kayak or even on foot.

The Topaz Lake recreation area, operated by Douglas County, Nevada, offers a variety of recreational activities including fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, camping and fishing. Just steps from Lake TopAZ, the campsites offer a wide range of amenities, from camping to fishing, hiking and even a casino.

Primitive camping is also allowed in undeveloped areas around the lake, but campers are warned that there are some privately owned primitive campsites in the area, some of which are privately owned.

Birding is a popular pastime, and nature lovers will find plenty to do at Lake Topaz. Bald eagles nest on the lake, but ospreys are also frequently seen, and reed swallows and yellow warblers can be found in the forests around the lake. Birdwatching can be especially good in summer, as many different species make their way from the Great Lakes to the area.

Other popular attractions around the lake include horse riding in the Sierra Mountains and nature lovers have many opportunities to hike nearby and observe wildlife.

If you're ready to have a bit of fun in an indoor arena, Topaz Lake has it too - after all, it's Nevada, and there are a whole host of indoor arenas and indoor roller coasters to choose from. At the top of the lake and in the adjacent hotel, various events and events take place, such as the annual Winter Olympics in Las Vegas.
