About Lake Ariel
If you regret the end of your summer camp, hiding at Lake Ariel might be the answer for you - And not just any hiding place, but one of the best hideouts in the world.
Hidden in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, the Hideout is a seasonal recreational community, and hideouts often return, sometimes for several generations. The only people who are accepted into the community are the landlords and their guests or tenants. It is a residential complex with good security and there are many holiday apartments, with about 3,000 apartments within the community.
The property is managed by the Association of Hide-Away Owners (POA) and its sales include residential buildings and land. It has paved roads, water and sewage systems and has access to a wide range of leisure activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and fishing.
Breakfast, buffets, dinners and dances are served in the clubhouse and lodge, and the tiki bar is a relaxing place.
There are several golf tournaments throughout the year, and there is a golf course in spring and autumn. In winter there are two golf courses, one by the lake and the other by Lake Ariel. The Hideout's amenities include an indoor pool, spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, tennis court and pool house.
There are several clubs for adults throughout the year and in summer there are camps for children. The Timber Construction Association is very active and the woodworkers will enjoy the timber construction, there is also a craft center. There are also quilting and gardening clubs and a woodworking club for the children.
There are six lakes within the hideout, Deerfield Lake is 16 hectares, Brooks Lake is eight hectares and the other four lakes are all reserved for fishing boats and motorboats. Only electric motors are allowed on the lakes and only a small number of electric motor boats.
The 225 hectare Roamingwood Lake was created by the Roamedwood Dam and is the largest lake within the hiding place. Fishing in the hiding place is voluntary, but there is a juvenile fishing derby every year.
There is also a small group of people who have had to behave themselves in recent years due to the lack of access to the hiding place.
The hideout is located in the town on Lake Ariel and offers various accommodation, restaurants and shopping opportunities. Big Springs Pond is three acres, Windemere Lake and Hidden Lake are each one acre, and Big Springs Pond and the Hidden Lake are each two acres.
It is also less than 20 miles from Scranton and it is just a few miles from the town of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the largest city in the state.
Besides the lake and water sports, there are several ski resorts and golf courses nearby, and for racing fans, NASCAR's Pocono Raceway is just a few miles away. The Poconos have thousands of acres of water and wilderness to explore, and in their sanctuary alone there are over 250 acres of forest where you can see wildlife and birds.
For many, the Hideout on Lake Ariel is also home to one of the most popular golf courses in the world, and the club's facilities allow residents to get involved in every way they can. In this beautiful mountain community, acres of forest and beautiful water offer peace and serenity. Families, small children and pensioners, head to the refuge for a day of hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and other activities.
