About Belton Lake

You could look out over the calm, clear waters of Belton Lake and admire the impressive cliffs that rise above you. Boaters, kayakers, anglers and sun-worshippers looked up to watch the osprey resuming its activity as the bird climbed over the surrounding trees. He spread his wings and picked up speed as he descended into one of the many curling bays of the lake.

Belton Lake is home to wildlife and activities that make it a great place to settle down and recharge after a long day of fishing, kayaking, swimming and other activities for 136 miles. Lake Constance is located south of Belton, Texas, USA, about 40 miles south-west of Austin and is one of the largest lakes in Texas and the second largest in the United States. The 12,385 hectares of water are used by holidaymakers and locals alike for recreation, fishing and boating.

Belton Lake, located in Bell and Coryell counties, is located on the Leon River and was completed in 1954. The construction of the US Army Corps of Engineers, which now owns it, cost $17.2 million. Construction began in 1953 to reduce flood damage, provide habitat for fish and wildlife and restore the area in general.

The lake is now filled to the brim with sea - visitors and fishermen walking in the morning mist will find a great variety of fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians and birds of prey on the lake. If you are patient, anglers can catch various species in different lakes, including bluefish, perch, trout, redfish, whitefish and many other species.

Hybrid perches are abundant, their scales shimmer in the warm summer sun and they are a great source of food for the lake fish.

The wide variety of parks gives campers the opportunity to sing songs under a blanket under the stars or to prepare a warm meal.

The water park on the western shore of the lake has slides for children screaming and tourists in swimsuits. Children with energy to burn can help their parents decide what to burn next.

Away from the summer hustle and bustle, Belton Lake is a quiet place for hikers, canoeists and kayakers. If you have a trained eye, you can explore Tweedle Mountain, which is located in the middle of the lake. Kayakers and canoeists who seek solitude will find plenty of reflection on the shore, where rabbits, quails, deer and doves peek out from under the trees.

Boaters have easy access to Belton Lake, as several boat ramps are scattered across the lake. The high cliffs along the coast keep the water calm, so anyone can easily jump out of a boat and glide on the water surface. As you move around the lake, you can hear the sounds of birds, birds of prey and even water birds.

The city of Belton and Temple are both within a 20-minute drive, and the Texas state capital, San Antonio, is only about a 10-minute drive from the lake.

This brings us to Belton Lake, one of the largest lakes in Texas and the second largest in the United States. The 6430 hectare lake offers a variety of water sports including boating, fishing, kayaking and swimming. Boaters looking for a different shore can jump to Stillhouse Hollow Lake, which is less than 30 minutes away. Next door is the town of Beltena, where everyone can find a great place to camp, shop or just relax on the shores of the lake.

Miller Springs Nature Center is located east of Lake Belton and attracts everyone. The 260-acre site, located 40 feet above the Leon River cliffs, is open all day, from dawn to dusk, free of charge. Walk along the path, climb up a few boulders, put on climbing gear, sit down for a peaceful picnic with your family and open your eyes to a new wilderness. Hikers will find a lonely waterfall hidden in the Chalk Ridge Falls Trail.

Belton Lake offers year-round activities for both casual travelers and long-term home lovers. Find real estate opportunities or settle in the tightly knit community of Belton. Leave the rocks at sunset and hide in a cozy apartment for the evening, or you can find a property on the outskirts of town just a few kilometers from the lake and it will be waiting for your arrival.
