Lake Cypress Springs is a beautiful 3,461-acre reservoir located on the shores of Lake Cypress, Texas, north of San Antonio. The vast spring-fed water offers spectacular views of the rolling hills of Texas and the Texas Panhandle, and is a paradise for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to promoting all kinds of recreation, the lake has been cleared of forest and scrub in recent years.

Some parts of the lake are only planted with suitable fishing, but anglers will find a wide variety of fish species, such as giant perch, bluefish and Valais. The record for a giant bass is 10.38 pounds, with a maximum weight of 12.5 pounds and a minimum weight of 9.8 pounds.

The lake is seven miles long and is one of the deepest lakes in Texas and the second deepest in the United States, with a maximum depth of 56 feet.

Lake Cypress Springs is surrounded by five public parks offering a variety of campsites, fishing, hiking, boating, camping and recreational activities. Fishermen will also find Lake Bob Sandlin, which also has a campground with camping and fishing facilities, as well as a picnic area. Lake Cypress Springs Dam is the largest dam in the United States and the second largest in Texas, with a capacity of 1,500 cubic feet per second.
