About Loon Lake

Loon Lake is one of the largest lakes in the area, surrounded by tall evergreen pines, firs and cedars. It is filled with crystal clear water from natural springs and a popular nesting spot for Loon. In 1881, the early settlers named the area "Loons Lake," and ten years later, the present-day town of Lano Lake was officially inaugurated in 1891. Ten years earlier, the city on Looe Lake, officially inaugurated in 1891, was officially inaugurated.

Today, Loon Lake is a small town where recreation, tourism, timber, agriculture and mining are the most important industries.

With an average July temperature of 86 degrees, summer is a great time to enjoy Loon Lake, which also offers a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, swimming and camping. With a break from the water, it offers a beautiful view of the surrounding forests, mountains, lakes, rivers and streams. The hiking trails are suitable for hiking, cycling and leisurely walks.

Some of my favorite places on Loons Lake are on the east and west sides, offering easy access to the lake and its many lakes and rivers.

Snowmobiles are also allowed on the west side of the lake and on the east and west sides of Loons Lake, but only in winter.

The Colville Indians also run the Coulee Casino at Grand Coulees Dam and the Lake Cheyenne Indian Reservation offers many water activities. If you are tired of the water, you can reach the Great Lakes National Park and other scenic areas just outside the county boundaries.

The scenic beauty of Loon Lake changes with the four different seasons, so choose your favorite season and visit soon!
