About Lake Greeson

Lake Greeson is one of the oldest reservoirs in Arkansas and is located beneath a hidden mountain of treasure. It is the second largest reservoir in the state of Arkansas and the third largest in North America, after the Arkansas River.

With over 7,000 hectares of water, this mountain of beauty is waiting to be explored, and although relatively undiscovered, there are plenty of amenities and leisure options for visitors.

Lake Greeson, founded in 1950 by Narrows Dam, is a tributary of the Little Missouri River. Lake Pike County is divided into three levels, and Lake Greeon is part of an area that has been repeatedly hit by flooding.

The bottom layer is kept full to maintain enough pressure to operate hydroelectric power plants, and the middle layer serves as a storage for electricity. The top layer can be embedded empty to stop flooding during heavy rainfall, while the bottom layer stores water to use in floods.

Lake Greeson is worth more than $1.5 billion a year, or about $2.2 billion in today's dollars. The US Army Corps of Engineers controls the lake and its surrounding area, which totals about 16,000 hectares.

It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds, and birdwatchers will love to catch a glimpse of wintering bald eagles.

Fishermen have access to a wide range of water sports such as fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking and rafting. Greeson has more than 1,000 lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, lakes and lakeside recreation areas.

Daisy State Park is a popular family destination with hiking trails and a wide range of outdoor activities for children and adults.

The Greeson Mountain Bike Trail, the largest bike path in the United States, offers cyclists the opportunity to explore the mountains and lakes with a variety of bike paths, trails and bike paths.

The Zinnoberbergweg near the lake is an educational trail around a disused vermilion mine. The mine was popular in the 1930s and 1940s before the lakes were formed and cinnabar was used for decorative purposes as a source of mercury thermometers.

The search for diamonds has been conducted by treasure hunters of all ages, and hunters can keep all diamonds found, making it a popular family getaway.

Lake Greeson is a mountain paradise to enjoy, so pack your bags and plan your trip soon! The steep shoreline of Greensee provides a perfect backdrop for the fireplace cliffs, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Grand Canyon of the United States.
